Sonya is a Project Director in Minneapolis, specializing in zero-waste, sustainability, and circular economy solutions for public and private clients. A TRUE Advisor, SEA (GBCI), and CE Instructor, Sonya’s expertise spans smart-city waste planning, cruise-line zero-waste initiatives, and construction & demolition diversion strategies for Hennepin County, Minnesota. She managed Minnesota’s statewide municipal solid waste characterization study, delivering actionable insights for government and industry. Sonya serves as Vice President of the National Stewardship Action Foundation. She is a foundational leader in the Minnesota Biochar Initiative (MNBI), Sonya focuses on impacting climate and economic impacts, delivering actionable, circular economy solutions. Sonya also sits on the SWANA Minnesota Board, and she is also active with USGBC, ISSP, RAM, Reuse Minnesota, and ZWIA. She holds a B.S. in Business Management–Sustainability and in Commercial Real Estate Management.
