Joshua Allen, Area Recycling Manager

Josh Allen is the Area Recycling Manager of the WM Twin Cities Recycling Facility. He has been with WM for over 20 years, in a variety of positions since December 2003. He has been working at the WM Twin Cities Recycling Facility since May 2014 as Operations Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager and most recently Area Recycling Manager. He has successfully overseen over 100 employees during this time. He has over 16 years of experience managing both solid waste and Recycling Facility operations throughout New Jersey and Minnesota. He has been largely involved and led projects for improvements at the site including the most recent 2024 upgrades, as well as previous additions of an overhead magnet, eddy current, and redirection of paper from glass clean up system to increase recovery of marketable materials and reduce the residue generated. He oversaw the replacement of the 6 optical sorters with upgraded optical sorters and 4 ONP screens to increase the quality and volume of materials to end markets while reducing recyclables lost in the residue. Josh has been responsible in these various positions for the daily safety and production performance, maintenance, financial P&L’s of the sites. He has been a trusted leader and coworker among both direct and indirect reporting employees, peers, governing agencies, and both small and large municipal and commercial customers. He has built working partnerships with customers in our mills and other end markets ensuring product quality and consistent delivery for customer needs.
