Eric Macias | LORENTZ Energy

After graduating high school in Canadian, Texas, he studied Marketing and Advertising at college in Amarillo Texas. Eric began his pump industry career working for a distributor of pumps to industry and agriculture in Texas.

After being in customer service and sales he was promoted to Director of Marketing, where Eric focused on promotional activities and training for distributors across the USA. He soon started and headed a new business unit focused on pumping water using renewable energy power sources. This is where Eric found his passion for the growing opportunity for Solar Water Pumping.

In 2014 Eric agreed to lead a new LORENTZ company in the USA, LORENTZ US Corp as the Chief Operating Officer.

Eric and his team have grown channel partners to successfully deploy tens of thousands of solar powered pumping systems across the USA and Canada for livestock watering, irrigation and off grid water supply.

Eric and the LORENTZ USA team have been instrumental in developing new markets for grid powered and solar powered progressive cavity pumps to dewater gas wells and produce crude oil from vertical/horizontal oil wells to 4,200 feet. Eric and the team have also led the efforts to develop and deploy grid powered and solar powered progressive cavity pump used to extract leachate from landfills, dealing with liquid temperatures up to 250F. Eric has helped deploy thousands of pumping systems across the USA, Mexico, Canada, Ecuador, UK and Spain.

In 2016, Eric and the Lorentz family partnered to form Lorentz Resources, which holds working interest investments in several vertical oil wells in Texas. This investment decision was partially driven by LORENTZ’s desire to show operators in the area that our equipment, automation and monitoring software could drastically lower LOE and increase oil production.

In 2023, Eric and his team we given an opportunity to take on a challenging west coast elevated temperature landfill which had been put under scrutiny by the EPA. Working with the landfill operator, he and his team successfully deployed nearly 200 Lorentz progressive cavity pumping systems in sumps and landfill gas collection wells. This project elevated Lorentz’s technology and is now being deployed in other ETLF’s across the country.

Eric is a very active COO, involved daily with customers. He continues to run training for both LORENTZ partners, government departments and interest groups, while keeping the LORENTZ US business successfully running. He is also a multi-engine instrument rated pilot and believes the benefits of aviation have helped him to learn how to master risk evaluation, risk management and standard procedures, which have raised his business acumen.
