Dave McNary | Hennepin County
Dave McNary is the Assistant Director Hennepin County Environment and Energy Department. Hennepin County is the largest county in Minnesota. He has worked 30 years for Hennepin County’s Environment and Energy Department. For the past 18 years he has managed the county’s Solid Waste and Energy Division. In this capacity he oversees the county’s integrated solid waste system, which includes the county’s waste reduction and recycling programs, household hazardous waste programs, solid waste operations, and waste to energy facility. He also manages the county’s district energy system. Prior to joining Hennepin County, he was the Solid Waste Manager for Pierce County, Wisconsin. Additionally, he served as the Recycling Coordinator for the City of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls and a Master’s Degree from Hamline University. He also served ten years in the U.S. military.
